speaking as the anxious one who did go for it — was nice and gentle and i was glad i set it up properly, but nowhere near the horror-story-or-life-changing extremes id built up. somewhere boringly in the middle haha

Worth adding: "is it worth it" partly depends on you specifically, and that's not a forum question. If you've got health stuff or you're on anything, that conversation belongs with a clinician before you weigh worth-it at all. For a generally healthy curious person with no rush, the framing above is about right.

@MayaW no shame either way honestly. some of my favourite people here tried it once, went "oh, neat" and never felt the need again. that counts as worth it too

this is the reassuring version I was hoping existed. think i'll go in expecting calm-and-mild, clinician bit sorted first, and be totally fine if it turns out a one-time "oh, neat." cheers all
