genuine question - what does mad honey taste like. every description i find is either "floral notes with a complex finish" which tells me absolutely nothing, or just "AWFUL" with zero detail. jar lands thursday and im somehow more nervous about the flavour than anything else which is probably ridiculous
not ridiculous, its properly not supermarket honey. sweet at the front then it goes sharp and bitter right at the back of your throat, herbal, bit medicinal. some batches have a burnt sugar thing going on too.
varies loads as well - flowers, altitude, season, how long its been sat around, whether anyone heated it on the way to you
tastes like honey that went to a very strict boarding school
and before someone gets there - bitter doesnt mean strong. thats plant stuff your tongue can pick up, nothing to do with the compound everyone actually means. "wow thats harsh, must be a good batch" is just made up
