to put @Sam's point precisely: the method tells you how a measurement was made, not that the measurement belongs to your batch, or that the lab is accredited for that method. its a necessary field, not a sufficient one.

ok that reframes it. so i dont need to become a chemist, i just treat the method as one box that should be filled in sensibly, and not let a shiny acronym distract me from the batch id / LOD / dates. have i got that right
