what grayanotoxin actually is (plain english, no scary internet version)

ive seen grayanotoxin written like 50 different ways on here and half of them sound made up. can someone explain what it actually IS in normal words? not a wikipedia paste, just what is the thing doing

short version: its a plant compound (a diterpenoid) the rhododendron makes, ends up in the nectar, bees bring it in. not added, not mixed in by anyone. just in the flower

@Jules and the plant isnt making it for us lol. its a defence chemical for the rhododendron. honey just catches it as a side effect of which flowers the bees worked

the bit that matters for what people feel: it binds to voltage-gated sodium channels and keeps them open longer than they should be. thats a nerve/muscle thing. im not your clinician and im not touching amounts, but mechanistically thats the whole story, it interferes with how nerves switch off

@DocOnTheSide ok that helps. so the lightheaded/heavy stuff is just nerve signalling being messed with, not some mystical honey energy
