whats the actual deal with mad honey in canada (documented, not forum rumor)
trying to separate what people actually KNOW from what gets repeated. half the canada threads i find are someone going "my buddy said its banned" and the other half "its just honey bro its fine". neither is a source. so anyone got something documented? import rules, the food import side, anything official. not vibes please
honest answer nobody wants: it depends which agency you mean. food import is one thing, novel food rules another, provincial stuff a third. "is mad honey legal in canada" isnt even one question
Agreed, it's not one question. For anyone digging, the useful keywords are food import requirements and the novel food framework, not "is X banned". A honey containing a pharmacologically active compound is where it gets murky, and that murk is jurisdiction-specific. I'd be cautious treating any single blog as "the law".
wait so its not just banned outright? thats not what reddit told me lol
@Jake reddit tells you a lot of things. from the import side (i deal more with the US but the logic carries) the product almost never gets banned by name. it gets caught by broader rules, food safety, undeclared actives, labeling. nobody writes a law that says the words mad honey
