does 'limited harvest' pricing language mean anything or is it just scarcity marketing
Seeing "limited harvest, only X jars left" everywhere now. Real supply limit behind it or just urgency, and whats the tell.
"only 6 left" is older than this whole category, its a checkout mechanic. The giveaway is that the number is always low and never zero.
asked one of them in the spring how many jars the harvest made. or i tried to, got back three lines about the mountains and no number in it lol. same listing said 9 left in march and 9 in june.
@Joe thats what gets me, the thing underneath it isn't invented. yield really does move season to season, weather, when the bloom lands. a small lot is a normal thing to have. put a season and a lot number on it and im happy, a low number with no date on it doesnt tell me anything.
From the buying side the honest version of this is boring to look at. It reads like a record, harvested this season, this lot, this many jars filled, and when they're gone the listing goes away instead of quietly refilling at nine. Whether many sellers actually do it that way I couldn't tell you, its just the version Id trust.
