first time coming up and a mate will be here. cant decide whether to talk him through it first or leave it. worry is describing it writes the script and we sit waiting for that instead of whatevers going on.

Did the long version for a friend once and spent the night watching her. she was fine.

Practical over narrative, for what it's worth. Where the water is, that the door isn't locked, that calling for help is an ordinary thing to do and not a sign the evening went wrong. A guided tour of what it might feel like just hardens into a checklist you both read from.

The useful version isnt a list of symptoms from me or anyone here either. Anything medical in the background, yours or his, is for a clinician beforehand.

my phone sat face down on dnd for hours once and nobody could get me, so thats worth sorting first. other thing people skip is just telling them its fine to ask how youre doing. doesnt need to be a production, one you good, a nod, done ..

Thats helpful. I was overcompliating it. water, door unlocked, calling someone isn't a failure, you're allowed to ask me anything, dont narrate. can do that without making it a briefing.
