does harvesting altitude actually matter for anything or is higher just marketed as better
Seeing altitude mentioned a lot in listings like it's automatically a quality signal, higher cliff = better honey. is there an actual mechanism there or is altitude just a number that sounds impressive on a label....
Altitude does correlate with which rhododendron species are dominant in that zone, since species distribution shifts with elevation, so it's not a meaningless number. but "higher is automatically better" is still an oversimplification of a more specific relationship ngl
Also worth saying different cliffs at similar altitude can still vary a lot depending on exposure, weather that season, and which bees actually foraged there, altitude alone doesnt fully describe a site.
Agree with both, this is another case where altitude is one input worth knowing but not a substitute for an actual batch-specific CoA.
