keep seeing people state flat out that this stuff is banned basically everywhere like its a hard fact. then someone else says its totally fine where they are. cant both be true. whats the actual deal, where is this myth coming from

a lot of it is people confusing two different things. "this product type is illegal to possess" vs "there are rules about importing honey across a border". not the same, and folks smush them together

exactly. most of what people call a "ban" is biosecurity and food-import regulation — agriculture, bee health, declared goods. it is not a controlled-substance ban. very different legal categories reported with the same scary word

yeah the honey-across-a-border thing trips people up. someone gets a jar held at the airport and goes online saying its "illegal" when it was just an undeclared food import
