sending it as a gift through the mail, does that change anything legally
Asking for a friend, does mailing it internationally as a gift to someone have different rules than buying it and carrying it yourself, or is that not acutally a meaningful distinction
Gifting doesn't generally exempt something from food import regulation, the classification of the product matters more than the stated purpose behind sending it.
agreed, calling it a gift doesnt change whats actually in the box. the destination's own import guidance is the only thing that answers this properly.
right, and posting something is generally treated as its own route rather than the same as carrying it in your luggage, so it's worth reading the destination's guidance on postal imports specifically instead of assuming the traveller rules carry over.
Good to know, was assuming gift status would simplify things. sounds like it doesnt realy *really change anything.
